Whether you're bouldering at the gym, exploring canyons, or scaling rock faces, this gear is built to keep up with your journey.
Our collection includes lightweight climbing harnesses, carabiners, and ascenders designed for recreational use. With comfortable fits, durable construction, and secure attachment points, this gear ensures a safer, more enjoyable climb—so you can push boundaries while staying protected.
A carabiner is a metal loop with a spring-loaded gate used to connect ropes, harnesses, and gear in climbing, rescue, and safety applications. Carabiners come in various shapes (like D-shape or oval) and locking mechanisms (twist-lock, screw-lock, or auto-lock) depending on the task. For climbing or fall protection, always use a load-rated carabiner that meets UIAA or ANSI standards.
Most climbing harnesses have a lifespan of 5 to 10 years depending on use, wear, and manufacturer recommendations. However, harnesses exposed to UV rays, chemicals, heavy use, or visible damage should be replaced immediately. Always follow the manufacturer’s inspection guidelines and never use a harness past its retirement date or with fraying, tears, or worn stitching.
No. Rock climbing harnesses are typically not OSHA-approved because they are designed for recreational use, not industrial fall protection. OSHA requires harnesses to meet ANSI Z359.11 standards for construction and industrial work. For jobsite safety, use a full-body harness specifically tested and rated for fall arrest under OSHA and ANSI guidelines.
Essential climbing gear includes a climbing harness, helmet, carabiners, rope, belay device, and proper footwear. Depending on the type of climbing (gym, trad, sport, or alpine), you may also need quickdraws, cams, nuts, chalk, and a crash pad. Always ensure your gear meets the appropriate safety ratings (UIAA, CE, or ANSI).
You can purchase climbing gear from outdoor retailers and safety equipment suppliers such as us here at KwikSafety!
At KwikSafety, we specialize in industrial fall protection like safety harnesses and lanyards. Currently, we do not carry a large range of recreational climbing gear. Make sure any gear you buy is certified and rated for your specific activity.
