Choose connectors that meet ANSI Z359.12 standards and are rated for your fall arrest system. Rebar hooks are best for large anchor points, while carabiners and snap hooks are suited for D-rings and SRLs. Always check gate strength, load rating, and compatibility.

A D-ring extender helps workers connect to an SRL or lanyard more easily by extending the dorsal D-ring connection point. However, it adds extra length to the fall path and must be factored into your fall clearance calculations to avoid hazards during deployment.
